Acura Tl Aces Stricter IIHS Frontal Crash Test, Lexus Scores "Poor" Rating

The Acura TL has aced the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's newest requirement to earn Top Safety Pick status. Not too long ago, the IIHS added the roof strength test, but with the stricter frontal crash test, the institute is already looking to make it a bit tougher for vehicles to earn the coveted designation.

The Acura TL made a huge splash in the entertainment world when it was used in the movie "Thor" this past year and here we get to see regular citizens go through S.H.E.I.L.D. evasive drivers training as if they were part of the law enforcement agency. 2012 Acura TL Model Details

It's hard to believe its bee three years since Acura evolved it's mid-sized TL sedan into the current technology showcase.

The retouches on the exterior are slight and meant to lightly change the appearance of the grille and tail light areas.  The TL's interior gets numerous noise, harshness, and vibration improvements.  Acura has even seen fit to include a new 60-gigabyte hard-drive based entertainment and navigation system that they say provides even more functionality than the already impressive sound and navigation system.

The 2012 Acura TL has a softer, toned-down front nose. The redesigned front bumper makes the new TL to be more aerodynamic than the 2011 version. Other updated features include a revised grille, headlights, turn signals, fog light design, and overhang. The new TL also features a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2012 TL also features standard 17x8 inch 2-spoke aluminum wheels.

Acura Will Unveril Restyled 2012 TL at Chicago Auto Show

Acura announced Monday that it will reveal its restyled 2012 TL at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show. The Chicago Auto Show will take place February 11-20. The Chicago Auto Show, put on by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA), is the largest auto show in North America. First staged in 1901, the 2011 Chicago show will be held at McCormick Place.
